Desktop Image Information

Information on how to find your resolution, view, save and use these images.

Viewing

Click on the resolution size of your choice (which is displayed under each thumbnail image) and it will open in a new window.

What Resolution?

To find out what resolution you are currently using:

Minimise or close any open programs.
Right click on an empty area of your desktop (an area that doesn't contain any icons).
On the menu that appears left click on "Properties".
You should now see the "Display Properties" window.

Left click on the "Settings" tab towards the top of the "Display Properties" window.
On the lower left side under "Screen Resolution" there will be a slider bar which has "xxxx by xxxx pixels", this is your screen resolution.

Saving

To save the image onto your computer:

After you have clicked on the resolution of the image to view it will open in a new window, right click on the image, and from the menu that appears choose "Save picture as..." or "Save Image As..."

In "Save Picture" or "Save Image" window that will appear choose a place to save the image onto your computer and click the "Save" button.

Changing your Desktop Background

To change your desktop background:

Via your browser:

Right click on the image and then left click on "Set as background" or "Set As Wallpaper".

Via your computer:

Minimise any open programs so that the desktop is visible.
Right click on an empty area of your desktop (an area that doesn't contain any icons or files).
On the menu that appears left click on "Properties".

You should now see the "Display Properties" window.
Left click on the "Desktop" tab (it's at the top of the window).
On the lower right side you should see a "Browse" button, left click on it.

This will open the "Browse" window which will allow you to locate the image you want to use as your desktop background.
Select the image and click the "Open" button, a small preview will now be shown.
Click the "Apply" and then "Ok" buttons to accept your choice.
