Follow the information below if your dialup connection is not saving the password or the password section is greyed out.
Start>> Log off...
When windows comes back on it may require a password, you can click "Ok" without entering a password.
Check if password is now saving.
Warning: This may delete passwords from other programs on your computer, make sure you know all passwords before continuing and have the Windows CD (or CAB files) you used to install the OS with!
The next step requires the CD or .cab files.
If the CD is not available try searching for the cab files:
Start>> Find>> Files and Folders>
Named box: *.cab
Look In: C:\
If that fails change to: All Local Hard Drives.
The .cab files are usually named "win(the version of the OS)_(the cab file number)", eg: win98_23.cab
Their location can be found under the "Look In" column of the search dialogue, you may need to resize this to view the .cab files full path.
Network >Add > Client for microsoft networks.
Set primary network logon to Windows logon.
DO NOT RESTART
Search for *.pwl
Delete the pwl file
Restart
On reboot, you will get the Windows logon
Type a username
Leave password blank
Click "OK"
Dialer should now remember password.
