To load Windows 98 without any background applications (Useful for troubleshooting).
Start
Run
msconfig
Tick "selective startup"
Unticked "load startup group items".
Click the "Apply" and then "OK" buttons, if available, you should be prompted to restart.
If not, restart manually.
