Standard Connection Fix

Note: This does not apply to OSX.

Many minor connection problems on the Macintosh can be resolved using the following information, you will need to know your username, password, connection settings and modem used.

The Fix:

Check Modem

Make sure you check and make a note of which modem is being used, and that the drivers are available if it's not a standard Mac modem:

Found in: Apple Menu>> Control Panels>> Modem
Usually: Apple Internal 56k v.90

Trash the following:

HDD>> System>> Mac TCP DNR
HDD>> System>> Preferences>> Remote Access (the folder)
HDD>> System>> Preferences>> TCP/IP (a file)
HDD>> System>> Preferences>> Modems (a file)
Restart...

Setup Modem:

Apple>> Control Panels>> Modem Choose your modem from the drop down list.

Setup TCP/IP:

Apple>> Control Panels>> TCP/IP
Put in DNS numbers and Domain Search.

Setup remote access:

Apple>> Control Panels>> Remote Access
Put username, password (put a tick to save password) and dial up number in then:
Options>> Protocol>> - Tick "Connect automatically when starting TCP/IP applications.
